The Hermessence Poivre Samarcande is inspired by one of perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena's memories: "An oak tree used to grow in front of my house. Eventually, it had to be felled. The peppery, musky and slightly smoky scent of the cut wood became etched in my memory."
