The Hermessence Iris Ukiyoe is inspired by a Japanese artistic movement known as ukiyo-e. "I collect prints and have a mental picture of the irises in the works of Hokusai and Hiroshige. I chose to eschew the classic approach to iris by combining it with other, virtually unknown floral scents." Jean-Claude Ellena, perfumer.
The Iris Ukiyoe bottle is showcased by a vibrant iris-purple lacquer on the glass, echoed by the leather cap.
The House's emblematic "lantern" bottle constitutes a unique and timeless signature. Its leather cap with saddle-stitch signature is topped with an engraved Herms Clou de Selle.
Apply fragrance to clean skin after showering, targeting pulse points such as wrists and behind the neck for optimal scent diffusion. Use a non-scented moisturizer first to prolong fragrance life. Avoid direct application on clothes and sensitive skin to prevent irritation and preserve the integrity of the scent.
