The Hermessence Iris Ukiyoe is inspired by a Japanese artistic movement known as ukiyo-e. "I collect prints and have a mental picture of the irises in the works of Hokusai and Hiroshige. I chose to eschew the classic approach to iris by combining it with other, virtually unknown floral scents." Jean-Claude Ellena, perfumer.

The House's emblematic "lantern" bottle constitutes a unique and timeless signature. Its leather cap with saddle-stitch signature is topped with an engraved Herm�s Clou de Selle.
